2015 Wrap Up | My Top Favorite Books of 2015

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has had as great of a year as I have.  This year was the start of a lot for me.  I started this blog, and I started my YouTube channel.  Both have had a rough start, but I know that with a little work, they will turn into something awesome!  There were a lot of times this year that I started to doubt that anyone would want to read my reviews or hear me sing.  Luckily, you guys are here to prove me wrong!  I have had so much support from so many people, and that is what has truly made this year so amazing.  So if you're reading this right now, thank you so much!  It is people like you that give me the courage to put my thoughts out into the world.

Okay, enough rambling.  For my end of the year blog post, I thought I would keep it simple.  So here are my top favorite 7 books that I read in 2015!

1. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

This book can be summed up into one word: whimsical.  It kept me captivated the entire book, and I couldn't put it down.  The writing is extraordinary, and the world within The Night Circus is absolutely magical.  This is one of those books that anyone, no matter how old or how young, can read and fall right under its spell.

2. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

I love this book.  It took me on a very emotional journey, and I came out the other end a changed person.  It made my cry, laugh, and smile all at once.  It made me feel pain and joy.  This is definitely one of those books that I know I will re-read throughout my life, just to see how it changes as my perspective on life does.  I definitely think that this is one of those books that everyone needs to read at least once, so if you haven't read it yet, go read it!!

3. Of Beast and Beauty by Stacey Jay

I don't exactly know why, but I'm obsessed with this book.  It may be because it's a Beauty and the Beast re-telling, which I love.  Or maybe it's because it pulled me out of a really bad reading slump.  Or maybe just because it has amazing characters and a great, evenly-paced plot.  Whatever it is, Of Beast and Beauty had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.  I would definitely recommend it to any of my re-telling or fantasy lovers out there!

4. Reboot by Amy Tintera

I didn't read a lot of sci-fi this year, but I'm so glad I decided to pick this one up.  I love the concept behind this book (zombies??? kind of).  The characters are kickass, and the plot is fast-paced and fun.  It's the first book in a duology, which I really liked.  Sometime it feels like authors try to stretch a story into three books when it could be better done in two.  Luckily, that was not the case with this series!  Anyway, I really enjoyed both Reboot and its companion, Rebel.  I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fast and fun read!

5.  Every Day by David Levithan

I respect any book that can give me a whole new perspective on life, and this book definitely achieved that.  This book made me truly realize that a person is not defined by their gender.  It is hard to imagine what our MC, A, goes through in this book.  I really enjoyed the questions that this book brought up, and it gave me a new view on life and what it means to be a person.

6. Fire Falling (Book Two of Air Awakens) by Elise Kova

It is hard to find a book that is "perfect" in my standards.  There is almost always something that I don't like about the book.  Most of the time, it's something one of the characters does that I think is stupid, or that the writing isn't quite good enough, or a plot twist that I see coming from a mile away.  This is one of the very few books that I can say is absolutely perfect for me.  It was like the author went into my head and created my ideal book.  I was hooked from the first chapter, to the very end.  If I thought the first book, Air Awakens was good, then I was absolutely blown away by this one.

7. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I have read other books by Rainbow, but this one definitely tops them all.  So many things came together to make this book so epic.  The Harry Potter elements brought in a nostalgic feel, which I loved.  The characters were so much wittier than I expected them to be, and the relationships were great, especially the romance!  I will definitely be re-reading this one whenever I need a fun book to cheer me up!

Those are my top favorite books of 2015!  I hope you guys read some good books this year, and be sure to share them in the comments!  Happy New Year, and I'll see you guys in 2016!

  2. I have only read one book on this list and that was The Night Circus! I seem to be in the minority on that one, I didn't care for it, but I'm really excited to read some of the books on this list! I've really been wanting to get Air Awakens lately! Also I have Of Beast and Beauty that I'm dyyyyingoing to read! Great list! Have a fantastic new year!

  3. I'm currently reading Carry On! After not enjoying Eleanor and Park as much as I thought I would, it's heartening to see that Carry On made your list! :) Maybe I'll really enjoy Carry On! :D

  4. Is it a little awkward of me being on this post or...
I really still want to post my top books of 2015, but I feel like I'm already to late to post it. I really want to read Reboot, but I'm afraid I won't enjoy it. I've been told it is just another typical dystopian.
